Innovative Kreling Chrysanten wins Horticulture Entrepreneur Prize

Together with the other finalists, Plantenkwekerij Gitzels and bloembollenkwekerij Boltha, the Kreling family waited anxiously in the hall of agricultural research centre Vertify. After a speech by Guido Landheer, Director General of Agriculture at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, the long-awaited winner was finally announced: Kreling Chrysanten!
Collaboration and innovation
The jury praised the company, saying that Kreling excels in innovation. They are leaders in the conception and testing of new developments in robotisation and sustainability initiatives, such as three-layer rooting, plug cultivation and natural fertilisers. Kreling shares its findings on innovation and sustainability with companies both within and outside the sector. It is leading by example for the sector.
They also pay attention to seasonal workers with their own dignified housing on the site.
CE-Line winner of the ‘Future-proof’ Theme Prize
The theme prize is to encourage companies, organisations or initiatives that distinguish themselves in a special way in the field of innovative technologies and to honour them for their efforts.
Jelle Beemsterboer, chairman of Greenport Noord-Holland Noord, presented the award to the enthusiastic employees of CE-line from Emmeloord. CE-Line is a scale-up that makes it possible to perform real-time laboratory analyses of the amount of nutrients in irrigation and drain water.
