Also release reusable support shelving Fc595 for Limonium
March 4, 2025

Last summer, Royal FloraHolland introduced the low, reusable Fc595 support shelving as an alternative to the low, single-use cardboard support collars. This support shelving is expected to save 100,000 kilos of cardboard per year. We have chosen for a phased roll-out of this sustainable support shelving. After the smooth start with Rose and Lisianthus, the Limonium product group will also be able to start using Fc595 from Monday 17 March 2025. Perry Snabel (Tonie Flowers) is looking forward to being able to start using Fc595.
Sustainability in transport packaging is high on the agenda at Royal FloraHolland. This includes reducing the waste generated from logistics supplies. The development and introduction of low reusable Fc595 support shelving not only helps to reduce waste (such as cardboard) but also minimises damage to the product by providing better support for flowers.Tonie Flowers: Improved load capacity and a sleek presentation with Fc595
Perry Snabel (in the photo) is the owner of Tonie Flowers and Luyona. In southern Spain and Ter Aar in the Netherlands, Tonie Flowers has 15 hectares of various crops: Statice, Antirrhinum, Gypsophila, Dianthus ‘Kiwi Mellow’, Spray carnations, Hydrangea and Limonium (in six colours). Perry explains: ‘We are still a true family company with employees who have been with us for a long time, and that translates every day into a strong commitment and great passion for floriculture. It is always our aim to grow top-quality flowers. In addition to top-quality, we are also looking to improve efficiency in our company. Now that we will soon be using the new support shelving, we can go from one bundle with 25 stems in Fc996 to two bundles with 25 stems in Fc992, and thus from 16 to 20 bundles per layer. An improvement in the load, but the nodes also benefit: it simply presents very neatly this way and the trade can continue to use the desired sales unit of 25 branches. It is very nice that the Limonium product group can already start with Fc595 in March.’
Phased introduction
We have chosen a phased introduction by product group to ensure sufficient availability of the Fc595. Last year July Rose product group has started and end of September the product group Lisianthus. If you are interested in using the low reusable support shelving outside these product groups, or if you have any questions or want more information about the Fc595, please contact our Customer Contact Center. They will be happy to assist you.
