Last month, the definition of ‘small-scale grower’ was established by the Floriculture Sustainability Initiative (FSI) board for the ‘Global North’. Now, the FSI board has developed an adapted certification scheme for ‘small-scale growers’. This applies to growers with a total annual turnover fom floricultural products of less than €250,000, operating in the ‘Global North' (mainly Europe and Israel). This scheme will meet the conditions set by the FSI to be FSI-compliant, but is adjusted to the needs of the small-scale grower in terms of workload. As a result, the certification is better suited to their business operations. The adapted certification scheme was developed in collaboration with MPS and GLOBALG.A.P. In the upcoming consultation round, other parties in the floriculture sector are allowed to provide input.

Feedback requested
The consultation round on the adapted certification scheme will start soon. As a grower, buyer or other stakeholder in the floriculture sector, you have the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed criteria. This can be done from the first until the 30th of August 2024. Based on this feedback, the FSI will establish final criteria. Give your input here.
