Deposit increase on Fc519 flower box from mid-January 2024

November 28, 2023

Fc519

To keep the packaging pool in order, the deposit on the Fc519 flower box will increase from €3 to €5 as of Monday 15 January 2024. To achieve this, we are introducing a new packaging code (Fc520) and a 're-stickering' campaign is underway. This article explains what these changes mean for you and how you can prepare for them. In addition to the deposit increase, we will also introduce a new design next spring.

The 're-stickering' campaign is taking place at all Royal FloraHolland physical hubs, as well as at Veiling Rhein-Maas and Plantion. We certainly need the help of all Fc519 users in this. Therefore, we are asking you to pay extra attention to the changes. You can prepare in advance, which will help ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved.

Furthermore, we have updated the All about Transition arrangements for returnable deposit on Fc519 flower box page with even more relevant and practical information.

Preparations by Fc519 users in the chain

To ensure a smooth transition in January 2024, we ask that Fc519 users return surplus stocks of Fc519 as soon as possible. We advise exporters and wholesalers to inform their customers now about the upcoming transition, including the call to return any surplus stock as soon as possible and to submit it accordingly.

For suppliers, it is important to keep a tight rein on Fc519 stock from at least the beginning of January 2024 and to reduce it as much as possible as the transition date (15 January 2024) approaches. You can collect Fc520 boxes from our packaging locations from as soon as Monday 8 January, enabling you to switch directly to Fc520 from 15 January. During this transition period, pay close attention to entering the correct packing code on the delivery note for the box you are using: Fc519 or Fc520.

Short transition period
Our goal is to have supplies through Clock and Direct completely switched to Fc520 by Monday 15 January 2024. In the week of 15 January 2024, you can still supply any remaining Fc519. In that case, make sure you supply one type of box within a single batch and, of course, use the correct packaging code. After this transition week, we will no longer permit supply of Fc519 and will be enforcing this accordingly. This way, we will keep the transition period as short as possible for all parties in the chain.

Subturn users of Fc519 are advised to switch to the Fc523 80cm-long subturn box as soon as possible. This will allow you to immediately benefit from its improved load capacity of 25%. This way, the Fc519 boxes currently in the subturn pool will be moved into the regular packaging pool, aiding a smooth transition from Fc519 to Fc520.

New design

The deposit transition includes developing a completely new printing for the Fc519 (soon to be Fc520). We are developing this in close collaboration with the Chryson Foundation, FPC Chrysanthemum and Concept Factory, among others. More information on this will follow soon and we will be able to show you the final colourful design.
