Network failure resolved: Rijnsburg is fully operational again

June 26, 2023

Royal Flora Holland
Everything is back as you would expect from us. This means that it is no longer necessary to switch supplies from Rijnsburg to Naaldwijk and Aalsmeer, and purchases can again be made at the Rijnsburg location as usual tomorrow.
What does this mean for growers?

  • Growers can deliver their products to the Rijnsburg location as usual.
  • All growers who deliver to Rijnsburg and have not yet sent in the EAB (Electronic Delivery Note): they no longer have to go to Naaldwijk and Aalsmeer, but can simply go to Rijnsburg.
  • Growers who have already sent in the EAB do not need to take any action.
  • All products that have already been taken to other locations will be processed at that location.

What does this mean for buyers?

  • Clock and Connect transactions will be able to take place at Rijnsburg as usual.
  • Clock transactions today at Rijnsburg have been delivered regularly until 4pm. At the request of customers, we will deliver the last transactions until 6.45pm today. Other transactions will be delivered tomorrow morning.
The Customer Contact Centre will remain open for enquiries until 19.00 p.m. today.

About this outage

This morning around 10.20 am, an incident occurred on the IT network at our Rijnsburg location. It was not possible to resolve the incident in time. As a result, all operational processes at Rijnsburg came to a virtual standstill. The cause was identified and finally resolved at the end of the afternoon. Because it was unclear for a long time whether it would be possible to solve the network problems in time, Royal FloraHolland decided, as a precautionary measure, to activate an emergency scenario in which we assumed that the malfunction in Rijnsburg would not be solved before tomorrow's auction process. This was to minimise the impact in the interest of our growers and buyers.

We regret this major disruption to our process in Rijnsburg that has impacted many parties: from buyers, members/shippers to transporters and not least our employees. We thank everyone for their flexibility.
